Our Uncle Daniel!
In loving memory of Daniel L. Thomas, our uncle who was struck by lightning on June 29, 2008.
Daniel had a penchant for life, known to read impromptu poetry while pruning trees: "I like bees, but not when they sting me. I like dogs, but not when they bite me."
Receiving his B.A. in Philosophy prepared him for a career in fruit picking and tree pruning where he was free to enjoy nature and philosophize. When asked his occupation by government officials he responded, "Poet" or "Philosopher."
Daniel enjoyed picknicking, hiking--especially off-trail exploring---bicycling, swimming, reading, gardening, storytelling, story-listening, and tickling.
Daniel said that whenever he was working and Max (his dog) came over to be petted, he took it as a sign from God to slow down and celebrate life.
Daniel loved his God, People, Nature, Family, Fitness and Health!
